Analysis on registration of new smear positive pulmonary TB patients in Leaoting county, Hebei, 2003-2007

ObjectiveTo analyze the registration of new smear positive pulmonary TB patients in Laoting county of Hebei province from 2003 to 2007. MethodsThe data about TB control in Laoting from quarterly report, monthly report and network report during 2003-2007 were analyzed. ResultsA total of 917 new smear positive pulmonary TB cases were found accumulatively in Laoting during this period. The incidence peak was observed in the second quarter of a year. The registration rate in males was higher than in females, and the cases in farmers accounted for the largest proportion. ConclusionImproving case finding is still the priority for TB control and prevention in Laoting County, and TB control and prevention in older people should not be neglected.
