Analysis on quality of network direct reporting of notifiable infectious diseases in Wenzhou, Zhejiang,  2004-2007

  • ObjectiveTo evaluate the quality of network direct reporting of infectious diseases in Wenzhou from 2004 to 2007, provide scientific basis for the improvement of the reporting quality for infectious diseases. MethodsThe data of infectious diseases in Wenzhou from 2004 to 2007 was taken from national disease reporting information system, and the reporting quality was analyzed by the indices of the proportion of county without reporting, rate of non-timely reporting, rate of failing to report within 24 h, average reporting time, rate of failing to fill in reporting card in 2 days by doctor, rate of failing to fill in reporting card within 24 h by doctor, rate of non-timely verifying, average verifying time and comprehensive index. ResultsThe user number of network direct reporting system was highest in 2007; the rate of non-timely reporting, rate of failing to report within 24 hours and rate of failing to fill in reporting card timely by doctor declined gradually. In 2007, non-timely reporting rate was 2.33%, which was obviously lower than that in 2004, 2005 and 2006, and average reporting time was 0.83 d, which was obviously shorter than that in 2004, 2005 and 2006. In 2007, non-timely verifying rate was declined gradually to 0.09%, the cards without timely verifying were greatly reduced, average verifying time was gradually shortened to 3.12 h. Comprehensive index (rate) of infectious disease reporting quality was greatly reduced. ConclusionThe quality of network direct reporting of infectious diseases in Wenzhou was improved year by year.
