Of all the emergencies, 51 (83.61%) were classified to grade Ⅳ, 9 (14.75) to grade Ⅲ and 1 (1.64%) to grade Ⅱ.The major emergencies were infectious diseases outbreaks, accounted for 83.61% and the major diseases were mumps, influenza, rubella, varicella. Occupational poisoning accounted for 8.20% with high grade and severe harms. The public health emergencies occurred in Jingyuan county and Huining county accounted for the largest proportion (31.15% and 27.87%); The peak periods were observed in March-June and October-December in a year, the emergencies in these periods accounted for 88.52%; The emergencies occurred in school accounted for 85.25%, and students accounted for 93.98% of the total cases. Since 2004, the timeliness, accuracy and completeness of emergency reporting have been improved greatly, but the interval between the occurrence and the reporting of emergency was more than 1 day, which didnt meet the country standard.
