Survey on the carriage of Yersinia in rodents in silent period of plague in Wenzhou

Objective To explore the Yersinia carriage of rodents in silent period of plague in Wenzhou. Methods Cage-trap method was used to capture live rodents for the isolation of Yersinia from the intestinal contents. Results A total of 687 rodents were captured, and the indoors rats accounted for 91.27%. Eighty one strains of Yersinia were isolated, the detection rate was 11.79%. Yersinia enterocolitica ranked first, accounting for 79.01%, followed by Yersinia intermedia(11.11%), Yersinia kristensenii(7.40%) and Yersinia pseudotuberculosis(2.47%). Conclusion The carriage rate of Yersinia among rodents was high in Wenzhou, and indoor rodents carried different Yersinia, but wild rodents only carried Yersinia enterocolitica.
