Evaluation of tuberculosis mortality surveillance in China

  • The tuberculosis mortality, one of the indicators to evalutateof diseases burden and control effort, would be reduced by 50% by 2015 compared with 1990s, which is one of the Millennium Development Goals. The regular Methods of estimated mortality include vital registration system, verbal autopsy and indirectly estimation by case fatality rate. The establishing high qutlity of vital registration system is the final purpose to estmate the mortanlity of tuberculosis. The national disease surveillance sites, vital registration system of the Health Ministry and tuberculosis information management system had been established in China, which are with significance for the study of tuberculosis mortality.
