Students vision in Zongyang county in Anhui province, 2009

Objective To understand the hypopsia among the students in Zongyang county, and provide scientific evidence for the prevention and control of hypopsia. Methods According to the Manual of National Survey of Student Physical Health, naked vision test was conducted among the students in 5 schools in the county town. Results A total of 7042 students were surveyed, among them 2882 were with poor eyesight (40.93%), 1055 were with severe poor eyesight (14.98%). The primary school students, junior middle school students and senior middle school students with poor eyesight accounted for 12.23%, 42.45%, 52.68%, respectively, the differences were statistically significant (P0.05). Conclusion The problem of hypopsia among the students in Zongyang is serious. It is necessary to pay more attention on the prevention and control of myopia among the students.
