PFGE molecular typing and drug resistance of Salmonella senftenberg in Xiacheng district, Hangzhou, 2005-2011

  • Objective To analyze the molecular types and drug resistance of 89 strains of Salmonella senftenberg isolated in Xiacheng district during 2005-2011 and establish Salmonella pulsed-field gel electrophoresis(PFGE) fingerprint database of Hangzhou. Methods By using XbaⅠ enzyme digestion and PFGE, the electrophoretogram of 89 strains of S. senftenberg were obtained, by using BioNumerisc statistical software, the homology of the strains was analyzed and by using K-B method, the drug susceptibility of the strains was detected. Results The homology criteria was set at 85%, the 89 strains belonged to 10 PFGE patterns, and 68 of them were in same PFGE pattern. The genotypes of the strains varied with the years. Up to 85.19% of the 89 strains were sensitive to 11 antibiotics. Conclusion No predominant clone type was found in 89 strains of S. senftenberg isolated in Xiacheng district during 2005-2011,and most of them were sensitive to antibiotics.
