Prevalence of AIDS epidemic in Dazhou, Sichuan,2011

Objective To understand the prevalence of AIDS in Dazhou. Methods The statistical analysis was conducted on the reported HIV/AIDS cases in Dazhou in 2011,which was consistent with the data in national AIDS reporting information system. Results A total of 484 HIV/AIDS cases were reported in 2011,in which 347 were HIV infections and 137 were AIDS cases. Conclusion The prevalence of AIDS varied with area in Dazhou, the prevalence level was high in Dazhu, but low in other counties. Sexual contact was the major route of HIV transmission.
