Abstract
Objective To understand the cervical infection status of human papilloma virus (HPV) among women and the prevalent HPV genotype distribution in Shaoxing, Zhejiang province, and provide evidence for female genital warts and cervical cancer prevention and treatment as well as the development and wide use of HPV vaccine. Methods Retrospective analysis was conducted on the HPV detection data of women receiving health examination in our center from January 2008 to October 2012. Results Among 5521 women receiving health examination, 754 were infected with HPV (13.7%).The high risk infection accounted for 83.7% (631/754) and the low risk infection accounted for 14.3% (108/754). Simple infection accounted for 85.1% (642/754), mixed infection accounted for 14.9% (112/754). HPV-16 ranked first among 21 HPV genotypes, accounting for 22.5% (170/754), followed by HPV-52, 58, cp8304 and 33. There was no statistical difference in age specific HPV infection rate (PConclusion The overall HPV infection rate was 13.7% among the women in Shaoxing. High risk simple infection was prevalent. The first 10 HPV genotypes detected were 16, 52, 58, cp8304, 33, 11, 18, 53, 6 and 68. The distribution of HPV genotype varied with areas.
