Survey of accuracy of syphilis diagnosis in medical institutions in Liuzhou

Objective To evaluate the performance of syphilis diagnosis in Liuzhou according to the state syphilis diagnostic criteria and provide evidence for the improvement of syphilis diagnosis and reporting. Methods Syphilis patients reported by the medical institutions at county level or above grade Ⅱ in Liuzhou were sampled randomly to evaluate whether the diagnoses met the state syphilis diagnostic criteria. Results The accurate rate of syphilis diagnosis was 30.21% (29/96), the standard detection rate was 40.63% (39/96). The accurate rate of the diagnosis of the medical institutions at county level was lower than that of those above grade Ⅱ. Conclusion It is necessary for medical institutions to strengthen the training on syphilis diagnosis according to the related criteria, add necessary detection equipments and report the disease in a standard way.
