Surveillance of routine immunization coverage of Ningbo,2010-2012

  • Objective To evaluate the current status, problem still existed and related factors in routine immunization coverage reporting of Ningbo. Methods The reported coverage data in 2010-2012 were collected through China Immunization information system. The surveyed coverage data in 2010-2012 were also collected. The estimated coverage method used in this study was recommended by the World Health Organization (WHO). Results Reported routine immunization coverage of BCG, OPV, DPV, MV and HBV varied from 99.16%-99.92%, surveyed coverage varied from 93.23%-100% and estimated coverage varied from 99.16%-99.92%. As to the timely first dose coverage rate of hepatitis B, reported coverage varied from 95.56%-98.92%, surveyed coverage varied from 84.75%-97.79% and estimated coverage varied from 84.75%-98.92%. Reported qualified coverage of whole range of these five vaccines varied from 96.77%-99.76%, surveyed coverage varied from 69.63%-98.30% and estimated coverage varied from 69.63%-99.76%. The coverage rates of local children were higher than those of children in floating population. Conclusion The surveillance system of routine immunization in Ningbo had become more stable, and the surveillance quality was good. It is critical to strengthen the management of vaccination in children among floating population to impove the routine immunization coverage of Ningbo.
