Surveillance of schistosomiasis in epidemic control area of Hubei province,2012

Objective To analyze the surveillance results of schistosomiasis in epidemic control area of Hubei Province in 2012. Methods According to The Scheme of Schistosomiasis Surveillance in Hubei Province (the 2009 edition),130 villages were selected as epidemic control sites, where the infection of residents and livestock, and the distribution of Oncomelania snails were implemented. Results In epidemic control area, the infection rate of residents and cattle was 0.8% and 0.57%, the density of living snails and infected snails was 5.1 and 0.000 2 snails/m2, and the infection rate of snails was 0.01%. Conclusion Compared with that in 2011, the endemic situation of schistosomiasis in epidemic control area of Hubei Province in 2012 decreased obviously.
