Abstract
Objective To understand the epidemiological and clinical characteristics of diarrhea caused by rotavirus in the infants/children aged Methods The analysis was conducted on the epidemiological data, laboratory test results and clinical symptoms of rotavirus infections in the infants/children aged Results A total of 387 samples were collected, 225 were positive for rotavirus (58.14%) and 29 cases were co-infections with other viruses causing diarrhea. G9 and P8 were the main serotypes. The positive rate was highest in age group 13-18 months. The male to female ratio of the cases was 1.59:1. The incidence peak was during October-December. Conclusion Rotavirus is the major pathogen causing viral diarrhea in infants/children. Effective surveillance for viral diarrhea is important for taking timely measures to reduce the incidence of viral diarrhea among children aged <5 years.
