Abstract
Objective To understand the epidemiological characteristics of influenza in Taizhou, Zhejiang province, from 2010 to 2013. Methods The surveillance data of influenza like illness (ILI) were collected from sentinel hospitals in Taizhou from January 2010 to December 2013. Results The surveillance data indicated that the annual incidence peaks of influenza occurred during January-March, during June-August and during November-December in Taizhou during this period. The proportion of ILI in outpatient visit was 3.42%, ILI mainly occurred in adolescents and children aged Conclusion The seasonal incidence peak of influenza was in spring, summer and winter in Taizhou. The incidence peak of ILI was consistent with the positive detection of influenza viruses. The outbreaks mainly occurred in schools. The predominant pathogens were influenza H3, H1N1 pdm09 and B viruses in Taizhou.
