Epidemiological characteristics of 3 cases of human infection with avian influenza A (H7N9) virus Cixi, Zhejiang

Three cases of human infection with influenza A (H7N9) virus were reported in Cixi in January 2014. The survey indicated that the poultry to which the cases exposed were from the area where H7N9 virus epidemic occurred in 2103. The positive rate of H7N9 virus nucleic acid in the specimens collected from the working sites of the 3 cases was 68.4%, and the positive rate in farm produce markets with poultry trade in Cixi was 38.4%. The survey result indicated that infection sources of the 3 cases were the poultry from other area, the farm produce markets with poultry trade were high risk places.
