Cross-sectional survey of vaccination rate of national immunization program among children in Taizhou, Zhejiang,2014

  • Objective To understand the coverage of national immunization program among right age children in Taizhou, Zhejiang province. Methods A household survey was conducted in 90 villages and 9 floating population communities randomly selected in 45 townships in 9 counties in Taizhou. Results A total of 2202 children, including 1922 local children and 280 migrant children, were selected for the survey. Among the local children, the vaccination rates of different vaccines were all over 95%, except the vaccination rate of 2nd dose meningococcal polysaccharide vaccine A+C (MPV-A+C2), The timely vaccination rates of 1st dose measles containing vaccine (MCV1) and hepatitis B vaccine (HepB1) were 89.64% and 98.60% respectively. The completed vaccination rate of BCG, OPV1-3, DTP1-3, HepB1-3 and MCV1 was 96.63%. The age specific differences in poster vaccinations, except MPV-A+C1, MPV-A+C2 and OPV4, had statistical significance (P0.001). Among the migrant children, the vaccination rates of different dose vaccinations were95% except MPV-A+C1 (89.44%), MPV-A+C2 (90.00%), HepA (91.89%) and DT (94.12%). The timely vaccination rates of MCV1 and HepB1 were 84.46% and 91.79% respectively. The completed vaccination rate of BCG, OPV1-3, DTP1-3, HepB1-3 and MCV1 was 94.64%. The differences in poster vaccinations had no statistical significance (P0.05). Conclusion The vaccination rates of all the vaccines were at a high level among local children and migrant children in Taizhou, and the vaccination rates of MPV-A+C and DT increased obviously compared with 2013.
