Suggestion for Ebola virus disease surveillance in China

In order to establish an effective surveillance system for possible imported Ebola virus disease(EVD) rampant in West Africa, China mainly focused on the early detection of imported cases using a highly sensitive case definition. This surveillance system was conducted by multi departments and adjustment was made according to the epidemic situation. Systematic evaluation was also conducted during the surveillance practice. It was proved that the EVD surveillance conducted in China was effective. In the future, a routine surveillance system composed by multi-departments should be established to cope with the risk of imported communicable disease to China.
