Past, present, and future of public health surveillance: the future (III)

  • This paper summarizes the current status of public health surveillance by ongoing systematic collection, analysis, interpretation and dissemination of health data for the planning, implementation and evaluation of public health action. Public health surveillance has been applied in multi field not only for traditional diseases. Computer information technology has been introduced in public health surveillance, resulting in the change and improvement of surveillance method. Public health surveillance still faces serious challenge, it is necessary for us to strengthen the cooperation to improve surveillance capability, including surveillance mechanism and surveillance method, for the health of human.
