Abstract
Objective To analyze the performance of polio virus isolation and identification in Inner Mongolia, China from 2012 to 2014,and provide evidence for the keep of polio-free status. Methods Stool samples were collected from AFP cases, contacts and healthy children for polio virus isolation and intratypic differentiation, and the VP1 gene sequencing was condcuted. Results A total of 21 polio strains(1 vaccine derived polio virus(VDPV) strains and 20 vaccine related virus starins) and 83 non-polio enteric virus(NPEV) strains were isolated from 1176 stool samples. No wild polio virus was detected. Conclusion The results demonstrated that the polio-free status was kept in Inner Mongolia during 2012-2014.
