Analysis on incidence pattern of notifiable diseases in Taizhou, 2004-2014

  • Objective To understand the incidence pattern of notifiable diseases in Taizhou, Zhejiang province during 2004-2014. Methods Descriptive epidemiological analysis was conducted on the surveillance data of notifiable diseases in Taizhou during this period. Results A total of 30 kinds of notifiable diseases were reported during this period. The incidences of Class A and B communicable diseases tended to decline, while the incidence of Class C communicable disease showed an obvious increase. In Class A and B communicable diseases, the average morbidity of blood borne and sexually transmitted diseases was highest, followed by respiratory diseases,intestinal infectious diseases, natural foci and insect borne disease and neonatal tetanus. Compared with 2004, the morbidity of intestinal infectious diseases showed largest decline of 95.56% and the morbidity of blood borne and sexually transmitted diseases showed smallest decline of 39.91% in 2014. The mortality and mortality of the top 5 class A and B infectious diseases had great changes. Now the mortality of syphilis and tuberculosis were higher than any others and the mortality of AIDS and tuberculosis are were higher than any others. Conclusion It is necessary to strengthen the surveillance and control of AIDS, syphilis, tuberculosis and other emerging infectious diseases, improve the prevention and control of hand foot and mouth disease.
