Study of management of auto-reporting of communicable diseases based on electronic medical records in Shanghai

Objective To establish a new system of the management of auto-reporting of communicable diseases based on electronic medical records in Shanghai. Methods The management system of auto-reporting of communicable diseases based on electronic medical records was established by using ICD-10 and communicable disease reporting standards as well as district health information platform. Results The new system can remind case report, transfer data directly, simplify the mode of report quality, exchange information with other systems and carry out early warning. Conclusion The management of auto-reporting of communicable diseases based on electronic medical records can improve the reporting of communicable diseases and related quality control and facilitate the information sharing in the future.
