Progress in research of phage molecule typing techniques

  • Phages are abundant viruses in bacteria in nature, including Actinomycetes, Blue-green algae, Spirochaeta, Mycoplasma and so on. Molecular typing studies based on nucleic acid and protein of phage have important significance to educt the co-evolution and mutual relationship between bacteria and phage. The paper summarizes the progress in research of molecular typing techniques of phage, including whole genome sequencing, restriction fragment length polymorphism, random amplified polymorphic DNA, SDS polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis and multilocus sequence typing.
