Progress in application research of bacterium genome-based subtyping

  • Molecular subtyping for discriminating the bacterial isolates of same species is essential in outbreak investigation and molecular epidemiology analysis. In recent years, genome-based subtyping assays have been used in outbreak investigation of bacterium caused infectious diseases and showed good subtyping power. This paper summarizes the progress in research of genome-based subtyping assay for outbreak investigation and molecular epidemiology analysis and the application of the assays in this field.
