Quality of pulmonary tuberculosis network direct reporting and related factors in a designated tuberculosis hospital in Beijing

  • Objective To evaluate the quality of communicable disease network direct reporting in a designated tuberculosis (TB) hospital in Beijing and analyze the related factors. Methods The quality analysis was conducted by using 1000 case cards randomly selected from 18 423 case cards reported through notifiable communicable disease network direct reporting system from January 2014 to December 2015. Results The results showed that the reporting rate (100%), reporting timeliness rate (100%), reporting completeness rate (95.2%) and reporting accuracy rate (98.3%) of communicable diseases in the hospital had met the national requirements, but the internal reporting rates of tuberculosis pleurisy, suspected TB were low, and less non tuberculosis physician reported TB cases. Meanwhile, many patients refused to fill the questionnaires, which greatly reduced the completeness of network direct reporting. Conclusion The hospital's network direct reporting quality was high, but the influence factors were complex. It is necessary to take targeted measures to improve the quality of network direct reporting of communicable diseases.
