Investigation of an acute gastroenteritis outbreak caused by norovirus in a middle school in Jinhua of Zhejiang province

On 14 January 2015, an acute gastroenteritis outbreak occurred in a middle school in Jinhua of Zhejiang province. A total of 79 cases were reported and the attack rate was 4.55%.Hygiene investigation found that a canteen staff, who continued to workafter onset, was the infection source, resulting in food or tableware contamination and finally causing the outbreak. Therefore, it is necessary to pay high attention to health monitoring of canteen staff to prevent the outbreak.
