Study on relationship between dengue fever epidemic and geographical environmental factors based on remote sensing-geographic information system

  • Objective To analyze the relationship between dengue fever epidemic and spatial geographical environment in Guangzhou,Guangdong province.Methods Remote sensing and geographic information system technology were used for the collection of multi-source geospatial data.Spearman method and multivariate regression analysis method were used to analyze the relationship between dengue fever epidemic and geographical environment factors.Results The results indicated that dengue fever epidemic was highly significantly positive correlated with land use type,water index,land surface temperature,population and gross domestic product,and the correlation coefficients between dengue fever epidemic and land surface temperature in night and population were 0.699 and 0.705,respectively.The multivariate linear regression equation between dengue fever epidemic and population,land surface temperature in night and land use type was established.The R2 was 0.278.The overall F test had a P value of 0.001,the difference was significant.The contribution of population to dengue fever epidemic was highest.Conclusion Dengue fever epidemic is closely correlated with social factors,such as population density,economy level,and natural environment factors,such as air temperature and land use type.Therefore,it is necessary to pay attention to the influence of population density,air temperature and in the future prevention and control of dengue fever.
