Abstract
Objective To analyze the factors influencing hospitalization length of hepatitis B patients, and find a feasible way to save medical resources. Methods A total of 742 patients of hepatitis B were consecutively selected from hospitals through cluster sampling. Data analysis was done by single factor analysis of variance and multivariate linear regression analysis with software SPSS 13.0. Results Among the 742 patients, 50.67% had urban basic medical insurance, 41.11% had rural cooperative medical service and 8.22% paid for themselves. The main influencing factors were health insurance, hospital type, antiviral therapy and disease type. Patients who had urban basic medical insurance had the longest hospitalization length, the difference in hospitalization length between patients with rural cooperative medical service and patients who paid for themselves had no significance. Conclusion It is important to reduce the economic burden of hepatitis B patients and save medical resources through strengthening the control of the factors influencing hospitalization length of hepatitis B patients, especially the type of health insurance.
