Abstract
In August 2016, a pharyngoconjunctival fever outbreak occurred among people who had swimming in a swimming pool in Fenghua, Zhejiang province. From July 26 to September 3, a total of 64 cases were reported, the attack rate was 16.54%. The testing results of patients' throat swabs indicated that the infections were caused by adenovirus type 3. The main reason for the outbreak were the inadequate sanitation due to the overloaded operation of the swimming pool.
