Epidemiological characteristics of rodent-borne Bartonella

  • Bartonellosis is one of emerging zoonotic diseases around the world, which is caused by the infection of pathogenic microorganism-Bartonella. The infection can affect multi organs and pose risk to public health. The infection rate is high in animals, especially in rodents. Rodents are the important natural reservoir hosts of Bartonella. It is important to understand the distribution of Bartonella infection in rodents. This paper summarizes the epidemiologic characteristics of Bartonella based on the prevalence of Bartonella infection in rodents all over the world.
