Abstract
Objective To understand the epidemiological characteristics of brucellosis and the effect of joint prevention and control of brucellosis in Luoyang and provide evidence for the prevention and control of brucellosis. Methods Case data, epidemiological reports and work reports were collected form health and animal systems,and the descriptive epidemiological analysis was conducted. Results A total of 2 590 brucellosis cases were reported from 2011 to 2016, the cases were distributed in all 15 counties. The incidence in 40-60 years old male farmers was highest,and the food borne transmission presented increasing trend. Most cases(85.60%)were reported by CDCs. The average interval between onset and diagnosis was 45.78 days,which the interval declined from 121.79 days in 2011 to 30.32 days in 2016,the difference was statistically significant (F=13.631, P0.01). The effect of joint prevention and control was remarkable. A total of more than 5.28 million yuan(RMB) were invested and 5 455 sick animals were killed. Conclusion It is necessary to strengthen the joint prevention and control measures,especially the source control in animals.
