Problems of nosocomial infection of COVID-19

  • The nosocomial infection caused by SARS-CoV-2 is a serious problem, which poses threat to the prevention and control of novel coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). It is essential to strengthen the prevention and control of nosocomial infection. The analysis was conducted on the epidemiological characteristics of nosocomial infection of COVID-19 and the problems in its prevention and control reported both at home and abroad to put forward suggestion for the nosocomial infection control of COVID-19. It was found that insufficient attention from leaders, insufficient awareness and training of nosocomial infection control of medical staff, and inadequate implementation of prevention and control measures, such as disinfection and personal protection, were the main factors causing nosocomial infection of COVID-19. It is suggested to integrate COVID-19 nosocomial infection surveillance into the national disease control system, establish and improve the third-party supervision mechanism and strengthen multidisciplinary cooperation to effectively improve the prevention and control of nosocomial infection in China.
