Abstract
Klebsiella pneumoniae is a gram-negative pathogen belonging to the Klebsiella species, which is one of the common pathogens of community-acquired infection and nosocomial infection. Hypervirulent K. pneumoniae (hvKP) is a highly virulent, highly viscous invasive bacteria isolated from traditional K. pneumoniae. hvKP can cause pneumonia, liver abscess, urinary tract infection and bloodstream infection and even sepsis when the immune function of the body is reduced. The infection is difficult to treat and the case fatality is high. For better the understanding of the characteristics of hvKP, this paper summarizes the spread status, high virulence related factors, drug resistance and related mechanisms of hvKP to facilitate the prevention and control of hvKP infection in clinical practice.
