Progresses in research of Apodemus draco

Apodemus draco, an independent species of genus Apodemus in family Muridae of order Rodentia, is widely distributed in China. Besides being one of important harmful pests in agriculture and forestry, A. draco also has medical importance, which often carries the causative agents of some zoonoses. Based on the domestic and international literatures available, this paper summarizes the research progresses of A. draco, including taxonomic position, morphological identification, geographical distribution and biological characteristics, relationship with diseases and prevention and control strategies.
