Progress in research of tuberculosis recurrence and influencing factors

The majority of tuberculosis (TB) patients can be successfully cured after standardized treatment. However, the recurrence of TB after the successful treatment has become an important challenge for the elimination of TB in both low - and high TB burden countries worldwide. Less systematic reviews about TB recurrence have been made in recent years. Therefore, based on the literature retrieval of related research both at home and abroad, this paper summarizes the progress in the research of TB recurrence in terms of definition, epidemiology, mechanism, influencing factors and interventions to provide reference for researchers.
