Evaluation of prevention and control of influenza A(H1N1) epidemic in Henan province, 2009-2010

Objective To evaluate the prevention and control strategies and measures of influenza A(H1N1) epidemic in Henan and provide evidence for the response of influenza and other communicable diseases epidemic in the future. Methods Descriptive epidemiological analysis was conducted on strategies and measures implemented to prevent and control influenza A(H1N1)pdm 09 in Henan in during 2009-2010. Results The targeted prevention and control measures were taken in Henan in different epidemic stage according to the requirement of the Ministry of Health and the recommendation pf WHO. Conclusion During the response of influenza A(H1N1)pdm 09 between 2009 and 2010,the spread of the disease was effectively slowed down by taking targeted prevention and control measures in different epidemic stages, its epidemic pattern was fully understood through multi surveillance channels and the disease prevention and control system was greatly improved
