Abstract
Objective To analyze the Results of malaria surveillance in Taizhou and provide evidence for the improvement of malaria prevention and control. Methods The surveillance data in Taizhou during last decade was collect to conduct epidemiological analysis. Results A total of 580 malaria cases, including 540 imported malaria cases (93.10%), were reported from 2000 to 2009. The blood samples collected from 123 974 fever patients were detected from 2000 to 2009, and 487 were plasmodium positive. Conclusion The imported malaria is still the priority for the local malaria prevention and control. It is important for Zhejaing province to improve the malaria surveillance and strengthen the malaria surveillance and management in floating population to achieve the goal of eliminating malaria firstly in China by 2016.
