Detection of a strain of Klebsiella oxytoca carrying blaNDM-1 in Yunnan province

Objective To study the drug resistant mechanism of a strain of Klebsiella oxytoca. Methods The isolate was identified by biochemical identification, and blaNDM-1 gene was detected by PCR, then sequenced, the drug susceptibility test was conducted. Results The strain was identified as Klebsiella oxytoca carrying blaNDM-1 by all the tests mentioned above, but was not multi-drug resistant. Conclusion The drug resistance is serious, it is necessary to strengthen the surveillance.
